lINDSEY MERRYN
My journey as a macro flower photographer began in 2024 as a part of a deeply personal healing journey following months of gruelling cancer treatment. Faced with uncertainty and the challenge of restoring my mind, body and soul, I began to find peace and renewal as I connected with the beauty and magical energy of flowers in the Fleurieu.
Through my lens I explore the intricate details that are so often missed as we go about our busy lives. I love capturing the delicate curves, textures and luscious colours to highlight the sensual beauty of flowers. In addition to focussing on the physical beauty, my creative energies are enhanced by slowing down and connecting with flowers at a soul level. This allows me to appreciate the subtle miracles and innate messages that nature has to impart.
Every day brings new inspiration as I am intuitively guided to various flowers following my personal mantra of “Let the Magic Flow”.
It is my hope that you are also able to take a moment to pause, awaken your senses, and hear what messages are whispered back to you as you enjoy “Flowers of the Fleurieu”!

IAN GRANT
As an artist, I work mostly in abstract expressionism - through dynamic compositions and a bold, expressive palette, I explore the interplay between structure and spontaneity.
Each piece is an invitation to pause and reflect—whether it’s the swirling energy of an underwater scene, the quiet dignity of a natural scene or the whimsical abstraction of everyday objects. I am fascinated by the tension between chaos and harmony, using line, colour and texture to create visual narratives that are both playful and contemplative.
When making a picture, I have very few preconceived ideas. Creating an artwork is about manifesting my subconscious. My process is spontaneous, dynamic - there is no absolute in what I am doing, it is all subjective. Letting go brings freedom and opportunity - this is my path to authenticity and integrity.
“The true work of art is born from the 'artist': a mysterious, enigmatic, and mystical creation. It detaches itself from him, it acquires an autonomous life, becomes a personality, an independent subject, animated with a spiritual breath, the living subject of a real existence of being. " - Wassily Kandinsky, 1925.

MARLEY WARE
Country in Bloom
This reflects the living spirit of Country—where land, water, plants, and animals are deeply connected. The flowing patterns represent journeys and waterways, while the blooms and birdlife symbolise renewal, growth, and the ongoing cycle of life. This piece honours the beauty, resilience, and story of Country as it continues to flourish.
Journey Written in Water
The manta ray glides along a story path, symbolising freedom and flow. The dotted lines and circles show meeting places and the movement through ocean country
The First Waters
represents a journey through ocean country where the shark moves with quiet strength. The surrounding patterns reflect connection, guidance, and the unseen paths that link like beneath the water.
Earth Circles
represents community and gathering. The central circles represent places where stories are shared, while the connection paths show relationships among people, land, and tradition.
Tide Paintings
tells a story of intersecting journeys, waterways and meeting places. The layered patterns represent how stories overlap and continue across generations.
Tides of Connection
Inspired by Aboriginal-style storytelling, this piece reflects the connection between land, water, and journey. The flowing lines represent pathways and movement, while the circular forms symbolise meeting places and shared experiences. Dot work is used to create rhythm and texture, echoing natural patterns found in the environment. The ocean-inspired colours bring a sense of calm and continuity, balanced by earthy tones that ground the work. Together, these elements speak to connection, community, and the stories carried through the landscape.
Reef Wanderer
depicts the near-threatened leafy sea dragon and represents the calm water of the shallow reef. Layers of colour, texture, and flowing forms capture ethereal elegance and the quiet intricacy of its natural environment. The work highlights the often-unseen wonders of the ocean and reflects the fragile, interconnected beauty of marine life.

ann baker
Ann Baker is an artist based in McLaren Vale whose work reflects a vibrant, free-spirited approach inspired by a love of colour, pattern, and intuitive expression. Her paintings celebrate movement, spontaneity, and a richly decorative aesthetic.
Working in mixed media, Ann creates joyful, stylised floral compositions that blur the line between nature and imagination. Vessels and blooms become playful forms—layered with intricate patterns, bold shapes, and luminous colour palettes that invite the viewer into a whimsical, almost dreamlike world.
Guided by intuition rather than strict rules, Ann’s process embraces freedom and exploration. Her work draws on a deep appreciation for pattern-making and organic rhythm, resulting in pieces that feel both expressive and harmoniously composed.
Through her art, Ann Baker captures a sense of wanderlust and creative joy—transforming everyday subjects into vibrant visual stories filled with energy, warmth, and personality.
