Silver Sessions with Studio Surf
In this full day session, Jasmine will guide you through the process to create your very own sterling silver ring, and then move on to more advanced silver-smithing techniques to set a piece of sea glass, beach pebble or other cabochon into a hand-shaped sterling silver bezel. Your silver bezel can then be turned into a pendant or added to your handmade ring before completing the final set and polish.
Silversmithing techniques used in this session include ring forming, soldering, texturing, hand piercing, layering solder joins, bezel setting, burnishing and polishing
All materials are provided, including silver and a take-home worksheet.
Lunch will be provided for this all day workshop. Please advise any dietary requirements when booking.

Under the tutelage of experienced textile artist Helen Moon, you will get to create one beautiful nuno felted silk scarf to wear or give as a gift. Over the years, Helen has explored many techniques of surface design, developing a sense for the language of colour and discovering endless possibilities in this medium. This workshop is perfect for both beginners and those who've tried silk painting before but want to upgrade their skills with a new technique. Nuno felted scarves use tissue chiffon with a fine layer of merino wool and other decorative fibers. They are felted in a way that helps the wool fibers to penetrate the silk, to create texture and added warmth.Helen offers insightful advice and will guide you through every step of the way, while providing you the tools to create a truly unique and creative final product.

You will work with silver-clay, and learn how to creatively set stones with your bare hands and some hand tools to create an organic look ring. You’ll have up to 10 heat resist stones (quartz or cubic zirconia) to play with!
I've some exciting updates! The workshop now includes firing and polishing-- you can witness how the clay turn into silver, magic! After the 2.5-hour class, your ring will be fired (takes about an hour). You can either take a break and return to finish polishing it yourself (about 20 minutes), or I can finish it for you to collect later that day or on another day, depending on studio hours.

My name is Tahnae Davidson-Bartley, I'm a Kullilli Wiradjuri woman who has lived Kaurna Country for nearly 30 years. I learnt how to weave from Yolngu Elders as a child in a setting where everyone came together as family and community. My sessions are about honoring those experiences by bringing people together to still the mind, connect with one another, and relax through the rhythmic and meditative process of weaving.
