Carole Bann is a local artist working primarily in coloured pencil and metal point. Metal point has been used since the times of the old masters, it utilises 24 carat gold, pure silver, sterling silver or copper wire to mark a surface. Carole’s work often reflects the natural world around her and feature both flora and fauna.
Carole writes, “I love drawing and nature. The detail, the elements that are missed by a fleeting glance, the beauty of our environment. I invite the viewer to look deeper, draw them in and offer another level of engagement. I endeavour to present simultaneously the micro and the macro. Viewers of my work are often found both stepping right back and getting up close and personal.”
