JAZ MCshane

My work spans mixed media including acrylic painting, cyanotype printing, lost-wax jewellery making, collage, felting, digital art and clay sculpture. I am drawn to working across disciplines because each medium offers a different way of moving through an idea. Regardless of the process, I find myself returning to the same palette — reds, pinks, oranges, greens, and blues — colours that carry personal and symbolic weight, and that reflect my inner world more honestly than words often can.

My practice centres on themes of the female form, mental health, personal development, and emotional expression. I approach my work organically, allowing pieces to develop naturally rather than forcing them, which keeps the work authentic. I am interested in how individual pieces come together to form a larger narrative — art that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Ultimately, my practice is as much about the journey as the final piece. It is a space for self-reflection, exploration, and growth.
