MAIKO SENTINA

Maiko is an emerging, multidisciplinary artist living and creating on the Fleurieu Peninsula. She works primarily in watercolour, with a growing focus on expressive portraiture. Her studio-based practice explores memory, identity, family history, illness and place-making, shaped by her perspective as a first-generation Filipino immigrant, her professional background as an intellectual property lawyer, and her lived experience of chronic illness.

Maiko works across wet, dry and digital media, but watercolour is central to her practice for its immediacy and resistance to control. Through layered washes that balance intention and unpredictability, her work explores how people and memories are seen and remembered over time.
