Tahnae Davidson-Bartley
“My name is Tahnae Davidson-Bartley. I’m a First Nations fibre artist whose bloodlines are to my grandmother’s Kullilli Country (Thargomindah) in the south west of Queensland. I also have family ties to my grandfather’s people in the Wiradjuri Nation, around Dubbo and Wellington, New South Wales.”
Weaving mainly in fibre, Tahnae is influenced by experiences she had in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory. She weaves as a way to connect to the lands and waters which she lives on and beside and as a way to connect with community members.
Tahnae prefers to use natural plant materials in her work in order to limit impact on the environment. She plans to source all her materials from plants sourced from the local environment.
