Workshop || Weaving with First Nations Artist Tahnae

  • Fleurieu Arthouse 202 Main Road McLaren Vale Australia (map)

In this engaging weaving class, you will learn the art of weaving and create a beautiful mat or basket to take home or gift to a loved one.

Don’t worry if you’re new to weaving - this session is beginner-friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive. You'll be provided with a weaving starter kit and all the materials necessary to craft your own masterpiece. So, come as you are, and feel free to embrace this opportunity to unwind and get creative.

My name is Tahnae Davidson-Bartley, I'm a Kullilli Wiradjuri woman who has lived Kaurna Country for nearly 30 years. I learnt how to weave from Yolngu Elders as a child in a setting where everyone came together as family and community. My sessions are about honouring those experiences by bringing people together to still the mind, connect with one another, and relax through the rhythmic and meditative process of weaving.
