EXHIBITION || Terra Memoria
Exhibition-Terra Memoria
The body of the earth holds the history of its existence through deep geological and ecological time. We humans are tiny in its long story.
Featuring richly textured and layered paintings along with earthy raku ceramics, this exhibition by Fleurieu artists Gaynor Hartvigsen and David Woolaway explores our perceptions of time and memory.
Chris Small Goes Large
Chris Small explores large works as she navigates loss and returns, and new understanding. Chris continues her exploration of the patterns of things and ordering visual ‘mess’. The shapes, colours and glimmers that enter her inner world like pieces of data are re/coded onto the canvas in large, bold, colourful representations of her brain’s attempt to order a constant stream of visual information. Recently diagnosed with ADHD has found Chris understanding her creativity and her urge to create, as grounded in the beautiful biology of the deeply human urge to create order and to somehow comprehend the relatedness of all the things.
Explore Painting and Texture
Join our exhibiting artist Gaynor Hartvigsen for a fascinating workshop exploring the world of texture and acrylic painting.
Create your own unique set of mini paintings featuring beautiful textural effects.

Ghida Stewart - JEWELLERY EXHIBiTION
I am a student at Willunga Waldorf school, and for my Year 12 project I’m experimenting with jewellery making as an art form. I have chosen to mainly work with the skill of silversmithing, and have been taught these skills by Claire Kennett. My focus is on experimentation, creativity and the process of learning. This exhibition is not about the final products but about the growth and experiences gained throughout the process. Each piece of jewellery, presented in the chronological order of when I made it, represents each step of my journey and the progress I’ve made along the way.

Fleurieu Biennale Workshop: Clay as Landscape with Ashlee Hopkins
Join me at the Fleurieu Arthouse for this special workshop exploring clay as a landscape medium.
This two hour workshop will introduce you to some basic steps to responsible foraging and processing of raw materials that can be used as part of a ceramic practice. This process echoes my workForest Ochre on Open Form that won the 2024 Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize.
We will work on a series of smaller pinched pots that will hold memories of places. I’ll bring a selection of foraged clay and oxides, and I’ll also send some instructions closer to the workshop for those of you who would like to bring your own foraged clay or oxide.
This workshop will be perfect if you’re new to pottery but love landscapes and anything earthy toned. And if you’re a potter who is new to foraging for raw materials this will serve as a great starting point on this beautiful journey.
What: 2 hour workshop learning to use foraged clay and oxides on pinched pots
When: Saturday the 6th of July from 2-4pm
Cost: $95 early bird (until midnight June 30th), or $120 thereafter
What’s included: all tools + materials to produce a series of small exploratory pots, as well as a glazing and firing service
As the Arthouse is located inside the Hardy’s Tintara precinct you are welcome to purchase wine from the cellar door to consume during the workshop. There is also a cafe inside the Arthouse that you can purchase tea or barista coffee from too!
