Chris Small Goes Large
Chris Small explores large works as she navigates loss and returns, and new understanding. Chris continues her exploration of the patterns of things and ordering visual ‘mess’. The shapes, colours and glimmers that enter her inner world like pieces of data are re/coded onto the canvas in large, bold, colourful representations of her brain’s attempt to order a constant stream of visual information. Recently diagnosed with ADHD has found Chris understanding her creativity and her urge to create, as grounded in the beautiful biology of the deeply human urge to create order and to somehow comprehend the relatedness of all the things.
