WORKSHOP || Silver-Clay Origami Earrings or Pendant Making

  • Fleurieu Arthouse 202 Main Road McLaren Vale Australia (map)

Join local artist Shirley Wu for this beginner-friendly class. You will be introduced to the magic of transforming silver-clay paper into a stunning pendant or pair of earrings.

You'll learn how to handle and creatively shape your silver-clay paper using traditional origami techniques combined with other fun innovative methods. By the end of the session, you'll walk away with a unique, personal pendant or pair of earrings that’s ready to wear or gift to someone special.

This is NOT an origami lesson – prior knowledge of simple origami folds is helpful but not required.

What’s Included:

A 5x5cm silver-clay paper and complimentary silver earring or pendent attatchment(s) (option to upgrade to larger sizes and to additional silver findings for different attachments)

The workshop now includes firing and polishing-- you can witness how the clay turns into silver, magic! After the 2.5-hour class, your ring will be fired and polished (takes approx. 2 hours), for same day or another day collect, depending on workshop hours.

What you'll get

  • Introduction to silver clay and origami jewellery techniques

  • How to fold and shape silver-clay paper (different from traditional origami paper)

  • How to attach earring studs or a bail to your pendant

  • Firing process & post-firing care for your silver jewellery

What to bring

Please bring your reading glasses for delicate origami folding.

If you have specific origami you want to make, feel free to send it to me before the session.

Materials and tools are included, with extra material available for purchase.

Add-ons available for this class

  • upgrade to 8x8cm silver-clay paper ($25)

  • extra 5x5cm silver-clay paper ($25)

  • upgrade to 10x10cm silver-clay paper ($50)

A quick heads-up: To keep the workshop running smoothly, I need at least 4 participants. If I don’t hit that number, the session might need to be rescheduled. If you’ve got a smaller group, no worries—I'm happy to run a more intimate session for a slightly higher fee, please message me.

    Private bookings are also welcome!
