Jianzhen Wu (Shirley) - Artist/Designer
Shirley is an emerging artist who was born and raised in China.
Inspired by holistic therapy, she has strong interest in how the creative process generates healing in mental health through meditative making and sensory experience.
Her practice crosses contemporary jewellery and sculptural object, by using glass, silicone, stone, ceramic, metal and other materials, through lampwoking, moulding, casting and metalsmithing techniques.
Shirley is the recipient of FELTspace graduate award 2019 and the Canberra Glassworks Graduate In Resident 2021.
She graduated from Master of Design program at University of South Australia (2019), where her works were selected by the Helpmann Graduate exhibition.
She was also shortlisted in MilanoVetro-35 Glass Prize (2020) in Italy and National Emerging Art glass Prize (2020) in Australia.
