Wild Woman of Willunga

Brenda Richards is a local artist who also works as the manager of the Women’s Centre in a remote Aboriginal community in Wadeye, NT. Her role encompasses community development and mentoring and Brenda collaborates with women artists in a program run by Palngun Wurnangat Aboriginal Corporation (PWAC).

PWAC community-led textiles enterprise generates employment opportunities and builds female empowerment for current and future generations.

Wild Woman of Willunga’s inspiration comes from Brenda’s desire to support the women of PWAC in Wadeye to produce a unique collection of her sustainable bucket hats and baker boy caps which feature screen printed fabrics by the women of the community.
